Fate

Often have I pondered the concept of fate. As any intangible object it is difficult to define. However, I have suffered many internal conflicts with the idea. Is life truly set on a predetermined path. Is it possible that there is no control over what we do, that we are strings and are worked like puppets. This is certainly not the fate that I believe in. I believe that while there is a set course we are able to define our own lives. We are able to manipulate the strings and create our own path. Every action in the Universe has a reaction, thus ever decision we make in life creates a small ripple in the universe. Albeit difficult for some to see this logically, view it this way. Each individual’s life has a beginning point and an end point. It is the decisions in between that comprise what we are at the finish line. Thus, the story has been told differently with each life. Therefore the decisions that we take now certainly do affect the entire universe.

An Eastern Approach to Happiness

Life is concise, each and every day is significant. Every moment wasted is detrimental to the health of one's self. The inner voice is always beckoning to be heard yet is often ignored. Simply listening to the pleas of the body can help attain fulfillment and progress towards outwardly happiness and health. It is individuals who ignore the pleas that become unhappy. Achieving satisfaction with one's self is never easy and may require sacrifices. This is why a man who possesses vast amounts of wealth can be extremely unhappy. In Western cultures superficial materials dominant decisions in life. Many aspire to obtain these superficial objects and sacrifice morality to complete these goals.
The destruction of one's self in the process of obtaining superficial items results in extreme unhappiness. Ideally, a balance should exist between superficial materialistic items and the desires of one's self. This amounts to the completion of both goals internally and externally.

Sky of Tomorrow

An endless ocean of air stretching beyond the exorbitant limitations of the eye. A blue blanket that encompasses all of our planet. Ancient philosophers, poets, and scientists gazed in wonder at the sky, a single question permeating through their mind. Perhaps one day the sky will be utilized similarly to the noble mountains, rolling hills, and terrain of the Earth has been. Perhaps one day we will gaze upon the once glorious sky and see dark clouds of smoke emitted from the exhaust of air taxis. Perhaps one day we will glance up and see giant skyscrapers stretching out towards the heavens. The residents of Earth coughing upon the repugnant fumes polluting the landscape from above.

Travels

Thoughts on traveling:
I yearn for adventure, exploring exotic places and meeting a variety of people. There is little more that excites me than new places, people, and events. I have traveled across the United States, yet have seen so little. It is not simply SEEING new places but actually living and experiencing the culture. The people that inhabit certain areas is what makes a place vivacious. Participating in events within a culture is one of the most effective ways of meeting people and enriching the time invested in traveling to the area.

Memories

Memories are like doors simply waiting to be opened by thoughts.

During depressing Winter mornings the sweet nostalgic moments, inspired by memories can whisk me away to another place and time. A place where the gentle breeze from the Ocean on a warm beach or the comforting touch of another can illuminate my soul.

During the night when I am alone I often stare out the window and look at the dim street lights and peer harder into the ebony darkness and begin to create what lays beyond. The bleak streets and dim street lights are a canvass in which I begin to create elaborate worlds. It is only then in another world that I can drift into a comfortable slumber.

Universal Truth

Humanity is searching for universal truth and has been since the dawn of the human race. Humans are the only race that understand their position in the natural order. There are a variety of ways to attempt to explain the order of the cosmos such as mathematics and religion to give a few examples. Life here was not accidental, there are patterns everywhere you only but have to look.

(The above link will take you to a website that shows a photograph of the neurons of a mouse brain and a simulated photograph of the universe.)

The beauty of the Universe is often under appreciated and taken for granted by the people that reside within it. However, if you simply look around then you will notice that the Universe is a beautiful place. We are still oblivious to the functioning of it and that in itself is a beautiful thing.

Realigion

I was siting here today and considerting religion. There are several reasons why practicing religion is important. However, it should not be acceptable to blindly accept religious documentation without questioning it first.

I believe that religion is an alternative way to explain the mechanics of the universe. Every religion contributes to the establishment of order. "Thou shalt not murder", "Thou shalt not steal thy neighbor's cow", etc. This all contributes to the construction of order. Without religion it is easy to see that the world would be more chaotic.

However, this does not mean that every aspect of any particular religion has to be accepted. It is not essential that if you are a Christian that you accept that the world was created in seven days. If you choose not to accept particular aspects it does not mean that you are a "bad" Christian or a heathen.
